Power Vinyasa Yoga
Strength and Power -- This class is a traditional power yoga and vinyasa yoga together. With strong breathing emphasis this intermediate class is a challenge while being still available to all levels of students who are looking for a strong class. The class promotes depth of spirit and empowerment with heart opening, graceful and energizing meditative sequences. Plenty of heating up by holding poses and exploration of intermediate and advanced postures. Still leaves time for detailed instruction. Will leave you warm, stretched, and completely relaxed.

A class guaranteed to keep you on your toes. Mark uses a variety of different cardiovascular and muscle strengthening techniques to give your body the challenge it needs.

Sculpt Challenge
The format of this class will vary, offering bouts of cardio such as jogging, sprinting, lunges, squats, pushups, partner exercises, as well as strength training using body weight exercises and the provided equipment in the group exercise room. Participants are encouraged to pace themselves, but to challenge their bodies by pushing their movement to another level. The class always ends with a 15 minute mindful stretching and breathing segment. Be prepared for a fun, challenging workout!

Pilates and More blends the traditional mat repertoire of Joseph Pilates with contemporary core training methods from fitness, balance training and other modes. The class may include use of props, standing work, and mat work to strengthen and challenge the core as well as create a strong and balanced body. This is a multi-level class and open to all!

About Diane McKallip

Diane McKallip recently returned to the Philadelphia area, having spent the last 40 years in Oakland, CA. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Diane decided last September to escape the madness of the Bay Area and return to the calmer and kinder world of Philadelphia.

In her years in Oakland, Diane ran her own personal training studio, Integrated Pilates and Wellness; where she saw clients at the studio as well as home-based clients. Diane was also the Mind-Body fitness director for the Courthouse Athletic Club, also in Oakland, for almost 20 years. She was responsible for teaching classes and creating programming. She also taught Pilates, core conditioning and senior fitness at other clubs and studios.

Diane loves working with all levels of health and fitness and has a special focus in working with active older adults and with professional dancers of all levels. She teaches and leads classes and workshops around the country.

In her years in CA, Diane founded a dance company, The Performance Alliance, and performed with many local dance companies. She holds a BFA and an MA in Dance and is certified by ACE, ACSM, ITT Pilates and others.

This yoga class is appropriate for all students seeking the benefits of a very relaxing, gentle and restorative practice. Deep restorative work improves range of motion and joint mobility, reduces pain and the effects of stress. All levels welcome.

Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa is an inner strength based practice beginning with an easy warm up, sun salutations, and a series of poses including balances and inversions, designed to work the body to the core, helping to loosen the joints, and get the blood flowing. In this class you will synchronize breath with movement and move through energizing pose sequences with emphasis on ease and grace. Students will focus on linking conscious breath with a mindful flow. Students will awaken their strength, energy, and flexibility in a fun atmosphere. There will always be modifications, so you can work at the level best suited for giving you a joyful stimulating experience. Good for most levels.

About Juanita Nance

Juanita has had the joy and honor of teaching yoga for 17 years to all levels, 12 of those years at FitLife! Her goal is to help achieve harmony and awareness of one's mind, body and spirit, to allow them to work for oneself, not against oneself.  As a massage therapist, Juanita understands the importance of easing tension in the muscles and joints, but the breathing techniques she teaches results in a deeper letting go of both the external and internal stresses that sometimes keeps one stuck in poor health.

About Doris Swarn

Doris graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, and later acquired her Personal Trainer Certification from the American Council on Exercise. Doris has always been fitness oriented, but it was her work with CAMcare and Cooper Hospital as a health coach that inspired her to pursue personal training. Her goal is to educate people of all ages about the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and to create fitness programs that help fulfill each person's goals. Doris has an extensive background in aquatics with certifications for USA Swimming and she has experience coaching both adult and youth swim teams. She also teaches water aerobics and Zumba courses around the city. In the spring and summer months, Doris participates on a competitive Dragon Boat Team and in fitness competitions. Doris is not a Philadelphia native, but it is a place she has come to call home.

About Dara Lyons

Dara began doing yoga as a way to bring balance to her life. A former competitive athlete and dedicated professional, yoga transformed her life--offering her a way to connect with her emotions and her inner voice. After changing her personal path through yoga, she left a career in finance to pursue her personal passions of yoga and writing. 

She received her Yoga Teacher Training at the Yoga Education Institute (a Registered Yoga Alliance School). Dara lives in Mt. Airy and works as a writer and yoga instructor. She is a very hands-on instructor and believes that yoga offers each of us a doorway into ourselves. A blend of all forms of Hatha yoga, Dara’s classes are suitable for all levels and incorporate form along with flow.

About Sarah Charlesworth

Sarah's yoga teacher training includes 250 hours in Vinyasa and 85 hours in Prenatal and Postnatal. She also holds an MPH in Epidemiology from UW. Her yoga practice grounds yet invigorates, and has deepened her self-knowledge. In Sarah's teaching she focuses on creating integrity and freedom of movement in the physical body and cultivating the mind-body-breath connection, using a creative, accessible and sustainable approach to meet students wherever they are. Her philosophy is that "we practice today so that we can practice tomorrow".

Step Barre Circuit

Join Kate for the Step Barre Circuit class on Saturdays for a workout sure to hit every body part! While implementing elements of a classic barre class, you will use our fitness equipment to mimic use of a barre, all while sculpting, toning and stretching your entire body in a circuit-style workout.
